  21. But obviously it has to be so. You either play in the realm of the OS
  22. or you play outside. Something in between just causes problems because
  23. you have to rely on the particular behaviour of the implementation or
  24. even of a particular machine configuration. This is, by definition,
  25. incompatible.

  27. Playing outside however prevents that you use OS services (like HD
  28. access or support for third party hardware). That's why the only
  29. acceptable solution is to obey to the rules set by the OS specification.
